AS I SAT ALONE IN THE CORNER.

I sat alone in the corner. Right after it happened After my mother had exploded After she hit me and slapped me And now my bruises are forming All on my arms To remind me of this one night It wasn't the first time I've even lost count It's happened too often before I've begged her to stop But nothing had worked And I sit alone forced To think bad of myself I dream of a place That I could escape to Just with me and my teddy bear Alone with no bad A place where darkness Well, it doesn't exist That place It isn't real My mother had screamed After I told her my thoughts Like she asked me to She called me a fool Slapped me once more Then sent me to my room Without supper I dreamt that night of How I sat in that corner And dreamed those dreams And told my mother And had bruises formed Just for her to tell me It was a lie It would never happen,
